The thing is, over the past 6 years, while we still love Italy, we have been to the following places:- Rome x4/ Venice x3/ Florence x2/ Pisa x2/ Genoa/ Verona/ Naples/ Bologna, so we haven't really explored the far coast at all.
We have little idea what Bari is like, as few people seem to have been there. So if anyone can help with any of the following:-
1. Crime rate? I would refuse to go if it's anything like Naples.

2. Public transport? As I wasn't taught to drive by Michael Schumacher I rely on public transport to get me around Italy. Is it any good in this area, as I'd like to see near by towns & villages.
3. Is Bari a good place to stay for a few days, or is Ancona/ Rimini etc as far down as people would recommend?....or should we skip the whole coast & go to Turin?

Any other tips/ hints/ experiences would also be appreciated.
Apologies, if I bored anyone with that long-winded post, but I wanted to try to give as much information as possible.
