evening all!
does anyone know whether british tv, dvd etc work in spain? and would you be able to hook it up to their sky tv or is it best to buy spainish?
and if you do buy spanish can you hook up an english games console?
and do the spanish dvd players play english dvds?
enough questions!
any info greatly appreciated folks.
i have just looked through all the posts regarding this subject and it seems fine. multi region dvd etc
voltage wise no problems
Most British TVs will NOT work in Spain as most are not multisystems. The sound in Spain is transmitted in a different format than UK therefore your UK TV will show pictures but no sound. Sky will work in a UK or Spanish TV if you connect via a scart lead. If you connect SKY with a coaxial lead between the digibox and TV then most Spanish TVs will not play the sound. You cannot change the output on a Sky digibox. DVDs players will play both as they are only connected via a scart lead. DVD recorders are different as they would need to be multi system to record in both countries. Its all a bit complicated but the problem is the sound
if you buy a Spanish set you will have to reset the output on the DVD and sky to match their system
Not true I use a Spanish TV bought in Spain and I did nothing to it other that connect my Sky Receiver, video recorder and DVD to it via scart leads.
The Sky receiver works fine so does the DVD as well as the VCR, the only thing you cannot do with the VCR if it is an English one is record Spanish TV but you can record Sky fine.
What part is not true? I said that if you connect via the scart lead that it would work. It is only if you connect via the aerial lead that you have problems.
APOLOGIES you were not refering to my post. I read it incorrectly.
brodev no problem we all make mistakes some are big and some are small.
i think i shall buy all spanish as it sounds like you can get pretty good deals financially and that will leave me more space for shoes!

Just something you might like to keep in mind if you do buy all Spanish particualy the TV try and get what they call a DUAL one which means if you happen to be watching Spanish TV and an English film is showing then you can listern to the English sound track at the push of a button.
Hi, Do you know if the above is true in Costa del Sol. I have never heard of anyone doing this there although I do know it is done in Mallorca.
