November in Krabi should be good- the later you go in November the better. It would be getting in to the peak season. You would take a flight from Bangkok. Don't let 7 nights put you off- I have been to Thailand for that amount of time! Only thing is -2 nights is a bit short for Bangkok- you can see a lot in 3 though.
your going to lose half a day of your holiday getting to Krabi. Its only an hours flight but of course you have to get to and from airports, also I think the Rayavadee involves a (short) boat transfer either from Ao Nang or Krabi town. Its in splendid setting with a handful of hotels, restaurants and bars nearby. Shopping, trips out etc will involve a boat ride. Watch the rocks in the sea on the beaches there, I managed to cut my leg open on one of them.
