hi to anyone reading this post. well we booked a holiday through them over the phone and then looked on the net to see what info there was on the company (wrong way round, i know, but we are all only human and in hindsight should have looked first) what i found shocked me and i panicked. they seem to cancel holidays at the last minute and change flights/ hotels ets at a moments notice. we decided to cancel the holiday and were charged around £280 for this, a letter was sent confirming the cancellation and detailing the £600 still owed, this i can cope with i suppose so here we are waiting for the refund. however, they never answer the phones (only the booking line, how convenient) then eventually i got through to the number i had been given (a week later) and was told it was the wrong line and given another number. they want to send our refund by cheque when i want it back on the credit card and say they will send on 20th nov, we cancelled weeks ago, i have also heard stories that they delay for ages giving refunds and i'm worried this will be the case with us. if anyone has booked with wadebay please dont worry as i cant say if the holiday would have gone wrong, i'm just guessing but i can say they are very bad about refunds. anyone thinking of booking i would advise not to and to research fully any company you decide to go away with before you book rather than after. well, i told the staff at wadebay i would let people know about them (including atol and trading standards) which i have. i will now continue to try and get my money back. see ya

I see that they are no longer in ABTA (theres a hint there, isn't there..) - who else have you got in touch with? Would it be the local authority trading standards, and if so, which authority is it?
If you booked and paid by CREDIT CARD you have quite a good level of protection. The credit card company is equally liable for the travel companies financial failure (should such occur).
Cannot comment on possible cancellations, delays, travel changes etc. until such happen - if at all. In that event you would be wise to contact a travel specialis solicitor. I have a high regard for Ros Fernihough, contactable on 01922 621114.
Nicole26. As you presumably paid originally by credit card, contact your card issuer and explain the circumstances. get them to chase on your behalf and in the meantime 'freeze' the payment previously made in expectation of the refund from the tour company.

hi, they are no longer with ABTA but they are now registered with ATOL so please dont worry about that, you will be covered if they go bust, my concern is to do with money back after a cancellation. i got my reciept and they are definately ATOL registered, i have the number if you would like it.
