Hi we stayed at ortakent in may and there is a lovely little place there called the acelya motel and they are really nice people that own it (durson and family) They do take direct bookings for either BB or HB. They will collect you from the airport (£60 round trip from Bodrum airport) thats what they charged us for three people. If you want contact details I can let you have phone and fax numbers. Jacqui

Hi All
My wife and i are off to ortakent in july.
This is a resort we know very little about, we know it is close to bodrum and is very quiet etc.. but know very little else about it, we are staying at the acelya hotel.
Any info about the resort or the hotel would be great.
We are also planning to go to altinkum for the day to visit old friends any inf on how to get there either by ferry or bus would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Andy

We went to the Tamarisk Beach in Ortakent in October 2003... it was... err. different.

Posted about it on this thread here:

Sorry, don't recall the Acelya, but it was probably closed - don't worry, I'm sure things will be different in July.

Basically, it's got a great beach and Bitez and Bodrum are very close, so you'll have a good time.

Hello there, we have not stayed at that hotel but, we have stayed at ortakent and it is a really lovely resort, very well looked after but, very quiet. We found it too quiet for us but, having said that the bus station is there and you can get to almost anywhere on the bodrum penninsula from there. We did spend a lot of time in other resort`s as there is nothing to do in ortakent. There is a good place to eat vera`s place on the front it is run by vicky from brighton and her partner mustafa and we found the food lovely there.
Most of the hotel`s there are allinclusive but it`s still nice to get out for a change.
The first week we were there we had the beach to our selves and also the two pool`s at the hotel, that`s how quiet it was.
We found there was a lot more french and dutch people there, well to tell the truth there was only us and two other british couples at the time.
Having said that dont let it put you off as the resort is very pretty and really relaxing. Have a good holiday anyway. Jacqui

It's about four years since we were there, not a lot there then and I doubt if its changed, only a prom of about 500m long for pedestrians only, with lots of empty cafes and bars, nice beach area, dolmus park for dolmus to bodrum, takes about forty mins.which passes the aqua park, just outside Ortakent(the village as opposed to the beach area, about two or three Ks away)by the way we stayed at the Sardunia, quite good then?

Hi can anyone tell me what is it like in Ortakent, is there much do to, or is it quite near to other places to visit. I've been looking at Muskebe apartments with first choice and wondering whether it's worth giving it a try. Any help much appreciated Maggie

Hi there, ortakent is quite a nice resort but, it`s a bit quiet for us. It does have a bus station there and you can get the dolmus from there to bodrum, gumbet and bitez etc. I liked it because we could go into other places then go back to ortakent to escape the hustle and bustle. The rest of our group did not think there was enough there to keep them occupied. There is a lovely beach there and all the sunloungers are free. Jacui
