the only stuff i would worry about buying is the clothes she'll need for skiing. off piste i stuck to jeans, jumpers, fleece - regards footwear it was a pair of hiking boots but cat boots or timberland type boots are a good idea as i found the paths icy (so no high heels!). it would be best to check with the school about equipment hire - i went to courchevel 1650 and i hired ski's, boots and poles pretty cheaply. to buy salopettes and a jacket, try asda - good stuff and it won't break the bank! for ski gloves, hat, scarf - decathlon are great for reasonable sportswear (look for the quechua range) and she'll be able to use them if we get the winter thats been threatened. if you don't live near either of these stores - try their websites:

don't forget a good, high factor sunscreen for her face and a pair of sunglasses that cuts out the glare of the snow!

Hi I do not know if you have an Aldi near you but they have ski gear on offer starting on Thursday they have a website, they sell good quality stuff cheaper not cheap stuff everthing we have bought from them has been excellent quality ranging from sound sytem, digi camera to wine and pizza, you will need to go in as early as possible on thursday to be sure of getting what you want the offers sell out quickly and I have no connection with them except as a customer regards Gill

I didn't know Asda did skiwear so will definately try to take her to one of their shops as really it all needs to be tried on. Should be a good price at Asda. I looked at some other specialist sites from the first thread that Pippy gave me the link too and the prices were scarry.

Gill, Not heard of Aldi, but will try there website, there must be one somewhere near me.

I had forgotten about suncream, I will try to get the new once a day stuff, so that at least if she remembers it once, it should last along time. I know there is a thread on here somewhere about suncreams. Hope you can get them in the winter without having to go to some kind of specialist shop.

try asda and boots for sunscreen - both shops close to me still have a range of sunscreen in and i know asda were doing the piz buin once a day stuff...
