I am thinking of booking one of these two hotels for the end of February but cannot decide. Can anybody recommend either of them as I am undecided and would value anybodys personal opinion. Thanks.

i think that there are a couple of pics of the Marina still on the album and there should be a report in the hotels report thread

As far as the hard beds go, i've stayed in dozens of places in Goa over the last fifteen years or so and can say that all the beds were hard!! but after a few days you get used to them. I think you have to go up to the Taj level to get a soft one, but no doubt someone is going to write in and tell me otherwise! Alan
Just back from Marina Dourada....very clean, grounds fabulous and used by locals for weddings and important celebrations, two pools. Generally regarded as being posh! carn't comment on the food as we never ate there. If you stay there you must eat breakfast at Lilas which is a 10 min walk towards Bagga beach
Good clean rooms, food o.k, friendly staff would recommend to anyone good by Goa standards,
There is a couple of reviews on the Hotal review section pasted link below:-

I stayed at Lagoa Azul February 05 and am going again March 06. Very nice and clean hotel with very friendly staff. Two pools with sun beds lots of repeat guests and also a few couples who have bought an apartment within the complex and stay for six months. Breakfast is just cereal toast and eggs any way you want them. Food in restaurant excellent and good value for money would recommend this hotel.
welcome to HT and the Goa forum. I hope to see you become a regular here! How about a hotel report for us?
It will be 10 years virtually to the day since we last visited Goa when we stayed at CSM in Baga - lovely hotel but the rooms were horrendous - not too keen on sharing a bed with the local insect population. We checked out after 5 days and went to The Whispering Palms. The big difference was that The Whispering Palms had air con which made the nights much more bearable. That was one thing that was a must this time . Must admit though the restaurants at CSM served superb food and will probably visit this time round.
I wonder what changes will greet us after 10 years away !!!
