Can anybody working with a travel agent/airline give me any advice on this problem?
We booked flights for next summer about 3 months ago. Flights were with KLM/NW travelling GLA/AMS/DTW/MCO. A bit of a round a bout trip but prices were excellent and flight timings were good as we were just off one plane and on another.
On checking my booking online today, it appears NW have changed their schedules for next summer and our booking appears to be in the process of updating. Presumably, we will be told about this in the near future.
However, it seems like they are trying to change our flights to leave Glasgow 5 hours earlier with a 7 hour stopover outbound in Detroit and a 6 hour stopover in Amsterdam inbound, getting back home 5 hours later than originally planned. Looking at the website there are flights with far better connections, but presumably they are in a higher booking class than I paid.
Where do we stand with this. I would like to know so that I can sort this out with confidence when we are told of the changes?
Can we insist on being put on the flights with the better schedules or are we able to claim a full refund and look elsewhere or are we at their mercy?
Wait for the change and see what they say - also check out your booking condiitons to see if it gives you a clue about whether you can make any amendments.
