I stayed in Amacao de Pera in August had a fantastic time. The beach is fantastic goes on for miles and is very clean with a selection of watersports to due during the day. As for nightlife I was told before I went that is is a quiet resort and it did appear to be just that until we walked down to the old town where there was a few lively nightclubs and bars but if you want total nightlife then it's about 10 to 15 minutes to Albufiera in a taxi and that has tons of nightlife and it does not cost much in the taxi. Enjoy it, I did.

Hi myself and my husband (we are in our late 20's) spent 2 weeks in Armacao de Pera. The beach is fab, but imo, that's all the resort has to offer. It doesn't have much charm, and there are tower blocks opposite the promenade. Food wise, we thought it was over-priced for what we got. We are not into clubbing, but even we found it hard to find a good bar, although we enjoyed The Water Dog, as the staff were so welcoming. After 5 days, we resorted to travelling to other resorts to escape the mundane life of Armacao  and spent an awful lot on taxi's because of this.

Sorry if it's not what you want to hear, and as I said, this is just our opinion on the resort. I'm sure there are others who liked it, but having been to Alvor, Vilamoura and Albufeira, we wouldn't rate Armacao.
