Cala Nova is a fantasic hotel, approx 5/10min walk from the beach,my wife,my 20 month old son and i stayed there in 2003 and had a great holiday,if ur lookin for entertainment for the kids around the pool area during the day then it might not be the best, but if ur like us we spent most off or holiday on the beach so that wasn't a problem, food was fantastic also.we have also stayed at the Thomsons gold hotel in Es Cana the Panarama and in my opinon the Cala Nova is a better hotel....
hi,i can recommend the es cane appartments in the first choice brochure, not cheap, but top quality and all spotless, all apartments have a sea view.the pool is quite small but i think this is a good thing with small children,we have been twice with children of similar ages.if you are looking for kids clubs then the ereso, coral playa and miami get good reviws.the cala nova as mentioned above is excellent also,it depends if you want appartments or hotels.as you have been to ibiza 5 times perhaps you are considering d.i.y.,jet2 flights are reasonable, also on there website they do accomadation at very good prices.p.s. ive forgotten to mention the caribe hotel, very central kiddy orietated mo
We have stopped at the Caribe just yards away from the Panorama which was quite good - I believe it had a major refurbishment last Winter.
Most of the Hotels around the beach (Miami/Coral Playa etc) area seem to get good reports generally.
I'm with jeffni. Cala Nova Fiesta. Really top class hotel with a huge selection of top quality food. Great facilities, a short walk to the resort but far enough away to avoid noisy passing trafic. Make a friend of Vincente in the restaurant. He will then make sure you get the best of everything! The other hotels look alright but when compared with the Cala Nova they definatly look a bit common!
here and if you look you will see most of the hotels mention already have some reviews.
I can only speak of the Miami and Caribe hotels both of which I stayed in.
The Caribe pool is very good friendly staff and meals good and as someone mentioned earlier it has gone through a refurb. Just watch you dont get a room a the very end of the building as they are suitable only for one or two people at a pinch.
The Miami hotel is almost right on the beach and the kids entertainment staff were A1 the only down side was the pool and the way it was divided in three different depths, there was a deep pool possibly 1.7 mtrs, a mid depth about 1.3mtrs and the kid pool which had fence round it but the kids could step round the fence into either of the other two so you had to keep a close eye on the younger family members.

We are thinking of booking the es cane apartments for july. I have 3 children aged 11, 12 and 14. Will these apartments be ok for them. Is there enougth on resort to keep them busy. We went to bulgaria last year and the kids got bored in the evenings. (but so did we) Would like somewhere lively but not in your face.
Thanks
hi,dont hesitate to book these apartments they are excellent, and spotless.all have a sea view.they are above the marvent restaurant,a bakery and charlies bar all under the same ownership i think.the receptionist justine is very friendly and english.the pool at the back is a bit small, big enough for us.around the corner at the zodiac complex is a very large pool that can be used by non residents for a nominal fee, also next door to the es cane is a small hotel called mar y huerta, there pool is a reasonable size, and if you buy a drink then you are welcome to use there pool.the beach is literaly across the road, couldnt be better situated.at the back of the marvent restaurant is a small games room.air hocky, pool table, interactive games etc, handy for the kids to wander off to while you enjoy a cocktail or two, very safe and within sight.we have been to es cana several times now and it is the one place that i think is safe for kids, all the bars welcome kids.es cana is quite an englishy resort but its very chilled out. i wish we were going this year but we are having a change and going to figuretas go
p.s. although the es cane apartments are on the main street, all the entertainment, bars etc. go inside after midnight,so although there is plenty of life, its not to noisy after midnight, but there is plenty to do if people want it.also there is a shop below the apartments and across the road for milk bread, beer etc, also a cash point very close by.we found the spar shop the cheapest, past the harbor on the way up past the zodiac complex on the left hand side.not that i did much cooking because we used to get up late, down to the bakery for bacon baguetts etc, also ive just remembered that the bakery does hot takeaway meals also, burgur chicken and chips, pizza etc.so everything very handy.i have to say ibiza isnt cheap, but its cheaper than england.the bus stop is only 5 mins away, easy to use, also the water taxis from the harbor to santa eulalia, cala longa, ibiza town
