A few weeks ago without trying I came across a gorgeous house with pool in cornwall. Can I find it now, no!
Any help gratefully received.
you could take a look here - they have most of the nice properties with pools http://www.premiercottages.co.uk - let me know how you get on

Both my husband and I spent all of yesterday trawling, me on my laptop and him on the desktop.
I would prefer to go to Cornwall, which is where I have centered my search but all of a sudden I remebered that it was in Devon, I believe it was either new built or newly renovated and it was gorgeous. It had a pool and the weekly rent was about £900. There was also mention of the eden project in the blurb, I think I may have been looking in the summer holidays. I think when I was looking we were considering a cheapy med hol in June and then a week at the center parcs to break up the summer hols. Then when I saw the prices I think I went off at a tangent and started looking at a holiday cottage.
We could actually go and stay with my relatives in Torquay but it is nice to have your own space.
Sorry I cannot tell you much more, I have to say we thought it was gorgeous but now having looked a lot more into the prices it seems very cheap. They could of course be just entering the rental market and I have found that there prices are fairly reasonable for the first year to establish themselves.
Thanks for looking
We always get a cottage for one week in the summer holidays usually devon/cornwall and try to take our main holiday around the may half term. We usually go to Turkey which is far too hot for us in the summer holidays so a week in a cottage in the summer holidays works well for us I always try to find one with a pool and games room and some space around us for the children. our boys are now 15,13 and 10 so they like their own space .
after my extensive searce this year i ended up booking here. http://www.poltarrow.co.uk. Must admit £900 sounds very reasonable for a house with pool in august. although if you go for the type we normally take which are usually several barns etc converted into a few cottages with a shared pool etc you could get one for around this price if you stay clear of the holiday brochures and check out the tourist board sites for private rental.

i will keep searching - I like the sound of it myself
I looked at Poltarrow Farm, read a post about it, however, they are fully booked for the size we require. Three kids same as you. The problem is that I think I have left it a bit late. Must admit though some of the holiday cottages complexes un-nerve me, brings back bad memories of Haven Holiday Camp in Torquay. Thought I would use up some Tesco's vouchers. My friends couldn't believe it (their nickname for me was Hyacinth!). Hideous place.
Well back to the search, I cannot remember how many bedrooms it had but hubby thinks it was a barn conversion.

Look at this one, gorgeous, bit big for us but exactly what I like, no pool though. Shame

Just having a look at some of the other cottages on this site. I have only looked at the cornish ones so far but they are fantastic.

http://www.premiercottages.co.uk. for these you need to book at least a year in advance . But you could come across a gem that has only just come onto the market - which sounds like what you found and lost . have you looked here http://www.cottages4you.co.uk they usually have quite a lot available. also have a look at a tourist board site like this one http://www.westcountrynow.co.uk
i will keep looking - enjoy the challenge

also have a look at these kazd - all on this list come with pools
we are booked to go here http://www.bosinver.co.uk for whit week it has good reviews and has just won "best self catering accomadation" at the november Cornish Tourism Awards.
there seems to be a wealth of activities on site but the pool is shared between the various accomadation types
just a thought!
http://www.glynnbarton.co.uk it was close call
we also nearly booked here
i also looked at bosinver but glenbarton i didnt come across - that looks nice too and bodmin is a lovely area -
Yep the Glynn Barton cottages looked very very nice and i think that why we chose the other, maybe a little too polished and polite for us. I think i would have chosen them for me and the holiday i wanted and not for the traditional holiday i've promised the girls....but hey thats just my opinion..good luck with the search! and happy holidays
