Any chance of some advise please

This september myself and a group of 8 people are embarking on Pefkos.

We are there for 2 weeks and we'd like to hire some Cars for about 7 days, mid holiday, so we can get out and about on the island and explore Rhodes

I've only ever booked car hire through Tour operators as they always give you the scare stories of never hire a car though the local firms as they can sometime rip people off with hidden and unknown charges.

But to be honest I've found Hiring cars though tour operators is expensive business!

So any advise on hiring cars (specially Jeep/Soft top style ones as we'd like some little 4x4's to whizz round in whilst were there).

Any advise and suggestions of companies to use will be much appriciated
