Hi
We are going to Goa for the first time next month and are wondering what is the best way to take money. Have heard that there are ATMs but not always reliable. Also, we are going on a package as it is the first time and are going to Don Joao Hotel in Anjuna but can't find any reviews of it anywhere. Anyone know it ??
Thanks

Take a look at the above.
As for money,we always take a mix of travellers cheques & sterling cash.
It has been suggested many times on here to open a Nationwide account as you do not get charged for using them abroad,Spike.

Also people will tell yuo that you cannot get rupees from travel agents over here, well you can. Not a good rate i agree, but a few pounds worth just to get you settled is a help

I have asked for your hotel to be added to our review pages - hopefully someone can reivew it?
We just took our nationwide card and never had any trouble with the ATM's. There was 3 on the main street of Calangute, all gave money, we were never short.
Thank you so much everyone for your replies. It is great being able to ask these things before we go.
