you can still see some of the yellow on the bricks. It has mostly worn away now though.
I think its a great pity that the authorities don't pay a bit more attention to this footpath. It would only take a bit of paint to brighten it up a little. Obvioulsy if the bricks were originally painted a yellow colour, then somewhere back in time, I am assuming the tourists 'christened' it The Yellow Brick Road many years ago, because it WAS yellow brick at that time, although not actually a road.
