We went on a canal boat holiday last year and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The boat is very easy to handle. Just make sure that you make the steering adjustments in good time as it takes a while for the boat to react unlike, for example, a car.
We felt that the boats were a bit cramped though. Mind you that's why they are also called narrowboats.
