(Not sure if im in the right area, but if not the mods will move it!)
Just back from the Scottish camping and caravanning show at the SECC today, we have been thinking about buying a mobile on a Scottish site, we stay in Falkirk in Central Scotland, so not looking to have one too far away, just something within a decent travelling distance that we could use mainly at weekend (although when my folks retire they might be down more often!!)
So, i was wondering - do any of the fine members on here have vans in Scotland, and if so, do you have any tips or site recommendations?
Any info at all would be most appreciated It was nice to look through lots of different mobiles today, and get a lot of literature, but something recommendations are the best!
Would suggest you contact teh local tourist boards and find where the places are and then check them out especially during the Midge season as have heard that the Scotish Airforce can put folk on the sick list very easily

You`re not kidding about the midges, they were the only downer on our last holiday up there. Midge season is generally from June to September, and worse near still water, we were at Loch Lomond, and I was almost eaten alive!!
I'm sensing the 'dont bother buying one' message so far!!!
Not at all Cidermonster, I`d love to have a mobile holiday home at Loch Lomond, but I would not go there in the midge season, if you are immune to them, as some people seem to be, my husband for one, any time would suit you. If you`re really keen on the idea, go for it!

They don't just feed on visitors either, we local suffer as well
CiderMonster I have found this info HERE that may be of some help as it list parks and their facilities and also info on sales.
I think it would be great to have a van here in Scotland, my choice would be either the west coast - Loch Lomond or Argyle area or the east coast - the East Neuk area.
Both areas are easy to get to and within reasonable travelling distance of Falkirk.

I have looked at some sites nw of Loch Lomond, and also quite keen on the west coast around ayrshire. Havent actually been to visit any yet, so that is the next step!
