Hi anyone know yet the dates of the opening of the long awaited new airport?
I go to BKK in July and was wondering if it will be open??
I will miss Don Muang with it's grotty brown corridors and odd glass smoking rooms though - everytime I land there I feel at home!!
well Shirley- I have heard everything from May to September- and that is only in the last week!
The new airport is still under construction and a fire there a couple of months back apparently added to the delays. When construction is finished you can add on 6 months for testing and approval by regulatory authorities etc before the first passengers are allowed near the place. September is now looking more unlikely, but I'd bet it'd be open by the end of the year.
