Have to apologise that I can't share my lovely holiday pics. of the Mare Nostrum hotels.Had my digital camera pinched from the boot of the taxi, at the airport I can tell you a bit about what's going on though. There is a lot of work being carried out at the moment,where the mini golf area,at the Mediterranean Palace is being changed into gardens.There are quite a lot of gardeners around from early morning. Those in ground floor rooms opposite the Julio Cesar, would have experienced the work going on outside their balconies, and we did notice one couple asking and getting a move to another room. We were on the fifth floor with a brilliant view of the area surrounding the Safari shopping centre,so it didn't affect us.There is also some work being done on the walk way between the two hotels.I think they are widening the existing ramp for wheelchair users... that's far away enough from the hotels to cause any disruption. (at the beach end) The gym at the Med palace is also getting refurbished and has been moved to another temp. area. There was quite a lot of hammering going on during the day,at that area too. It is good to see that repairs and upgrades are being done and it didn't spoil our holiday in the least. Still had a great time at the hotel.

I was just reading what Tony O had said about booking a standard room then asking to be upgraded. have you ever asked to be upgraded when you get there? . I cant wait to see those photos you take on your next holiday as we dont go till november. accomodation on ly prices are not out until end of april beginning of may so cant book yet.

Hi Glacier,Yes,I'll need to be even more careful at the airport the next time! (you might have read a post I put in on 15th March, " Just back last night"... It said a bit about what had happened. :roll:) It didn't spoil the holiday,though.The weather was really lovely for a full week and came back nice and brown. Going out today to look at new cameras .
Have never asked for an upgrade,when we got there,Glacier. To be honest we've always been quite happy with our rooms.
