Hi,

First time to gran canaria and we have booked the ifa continental in playas des ingles, i have a 10 year old daughter. We have been to magaluf and places like that so did not want somewere quiet. HOWEVER we have heard

*the hotel has a nightclub next door and there is lots of fights

*it is not for children due to traffic noise

*playas des ingles is not the place to take a 10 yr old even though we will not be out late

*the hotel is terrible with entertainment

As we have paid only the deposit can somebody pleas help with the above

Have you read the hotel reviews on this site? We are going to Barcelo Las Margaritas Hotel in PDI for the first time in July.

I have read the reviews but they dont answer my questions. I may be reacting over nothing

Due there in 2 weeks and my Dutch friends have been informed that the main pool is closed. The smaller pool is not big enough to accommodate even half the hotel clients so an hourly bus service will take them to either the beach and pay for sunbed hire/parasol or to another hotel for the day.
I haven't been informed by Thomas Cook but contacted the hotel and it has been confirmed as correct.
Has anyone just come back who can tell me how much construction work is going on?
