Zahara,
I know of a couple of places that are available during the monsoon although not sure of the cost with A/C. Also don't know if they're free - but can ask next time I'm in Calangute... (please email directly through the Children Walking Tall website below). The ones I know are two bedroom with cooking facilities... I'm guessing it will be around £120 - £150 a month. But that's a guess as I don't know about AC. let me know dates when you need them from/to... Although Once in the monsoon it does cool down (with the rain, but AC is always nice!)
I also own (in my own name) a vehical, it can be a little bt of a pain to sort one, but it's just nice to have one that's 'your own'.
If you have all the documents, then I don't see the problem. Most important I think is a residents permit - do you have? Shermina couldn't have one in her name as she wasn't named in the lease agreement. Although I shouldn't have thought this would be too much of an issue. Have you seen him directly and told him your circumstances?

hiya gooner what do you recon the tempreture is around in the monsoon? maggieomx
Temp is pretty consistent all year round, June is 25-33 deg but its the humidity that kills you....
that suits me fine iv just done 2 weeks in dubai in august and that was humid!! your clothes just stuck to you but i had long trousers on cos of the dress code in goa i wear shorts so its not 2 bad thanks maggie58omx
I looked last year at the temps and its does seem to cool down to 27C but the humidity jumps from 53% now to anything from 85% to 100% (didn't know you could get 100%!) so is the sweatiness (or should I say perspiration) bad?
Hi everyone.... we are going to Goa / Mumbai in July for a couple of weeks...(our 11th visit in 6years)...it will be our first time in the monsoon season....what can we expect (dont say rain , we know that )...no annoying "Benidorm Brigade" thats for sure....
Here is last years July figures http://www.wunderground.com/history/station/43192/2005/7/1/MonthlyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA
Hope they are useful
What is so annoying about the "Benidorm Brigade" I'm off to beni in July and was in Goa in March, so does that mean i'm one of them hope so.
I love the Monsoon, although you do end up getting tired of the damp shorts if you're only mode of transport is a motorbike! At the moment though we've had a couple of days of mostly dry weather, which has been a nice break. The weather (during the rain) is nice and relatively cool with a strange smell in the air.
Everyone just carries on as normal, in a heavy downfall people just shelter until it passes. Things are very quiet, most of the restaurants are closed and unless you know a taxi driver it's very hard to get one in the smaller villages.
Need to wait til November to return unfortunately.
My girlfriends son goes to Mater Dei School in Saligao and is enjoying the monsoon as he goes by bus every morning from the Casa Sea Shell.
The monsoon rains are not to bad here in Goa unlike Mumbai an hour by plane. Mumbai has been flooded by the rains as they were last year late July. I have been waiting for some extreme weather behaviour as it is my first monsoon...like thunder, lightning and blustery winds but to no avail, just heavy rains. There are a few restaurants open scattered around. The beaches are empty and the waves are high. Sinquerim beach looks as though most of the sands have gone.
I have been into Mapusa and Panjim during heavy downpours and everyone seems unfazed by it all. Life carries on a living to be earned!
The humidity levels are quite intense, you certainly need A/C from April to the end of August. Power failures are quite common now.
All said and done I am still enjoying it!!!
As i will be doing my first monsoon season next year,it doesn't sound to bad.
I was caught in the rains in mumbai (or at least my plane(s) were), had a few hours delay due to a nice swimming pool on the runway! After landing and seeing a huge expance of water a few inches deep - a little worrying......
Tourists flood to Goa for deadly monsoon
