Has anybody been to Camp de Mar and particularly to Grupotel Playa Camp De Mar?
There will be 4 of us travelling (hubby, me, Dad 78 and son 17 but very quiet)
We like a quiet area but with things to do and areas to visit, as well as some form of evening entertainment. We also like to go on walks (needs to be fairly flat) and visit a few shops.
Any information would be very gratefully received.
Thanks everyone.

Does anyone know if the hotel does an AI upgrade?
It's been a few years since I was at Camp De Mar. If I recall correctly the beach is quite small. Thee is a restaurant on an island just off the beach. The bay is sheltered. The resort is quite compact. The nearest lively spot would probably be Paguera which again has increased in size hugely since I first went there. I doubt your father could walk there. You used to be able to walk over the headland via Cala Fornells but I expect a lot of that area has now been developed. We used to swim from Paguera round to CdM (this was 30 years ago)! which would take about 3 hours with a rest at Cala Fornells. Then walk back.
Many thanks Hi De Hi
My grandparents (late 70's) are looking to book this Thomson gold hotel in Camp de Mar for next year as they always go Thomson gold.
My question is my grandad is disabled.......uses a walking stick but mainly a scooter, is this resort suitable for the disabled visitor......ie is it flat?
Many Thanks
Vicky
The only downside we had on the original visit and their subsequent visit was that it's a bit 'away fom it all' - nearest shops were in Paguera which was a short taxi ride away.
If you're wanting an 'away from it all' holiday I can see that it would be perfect but if you like your shops (as me and my Mum do) it might not be the place for you.
Thank you.
Myself and my grandmother are looking to go to this hotel this year but I just want to ask some questions.
Firstly from the brocher it looks as if the hotel and beach are fairly open which looks like anyone could walk in etc. Also how safe is the surrounding area?? Is it very built up??
Finally question is it fairly flat around the hotel, my gran does not like too many steps.
Thanks
Watkins

Has anyone been to the Thomson hotel right on the beach? They do not seem to do AI.Its an adults only hotel which is what we are looking for . Do you know if you can upgrade to AI when you arrive at the resort...
Grupotel Playa Camp de Mar not sure i have emailed them.
Gran Camp de Mar Hotel yes you should be able to when you check in.but thomson do a/i to this hotel anyway
We stayed at the Playa Camp De Mar hotel two years ago and have booked again for this year as it was very good. As far as I know it is not All inclusive. The food was fantastic! The swimming pool was also heated. Bliss!
Do you know if you can upgrade to AI when you are there. Drinks are so expensive now. We did Adults only in Menorca last year it was AI and all we spent in the fortnight was £200. Drinks can make the holiday very expensive
Not as far as I'm aware. No mention of upgrading on the thomson website. Can't remember how much the drinks were but we made use of the supermarket for soft drinks and water during the day and took a travel kettle with us.
