i've not been AI, but in general the alcoholic drinks are not that great in Egypt..and the imported drinks are very expensive.
i think there is a quite nice rose wine
i expect spirits and mixers would be fine, and i didn't try the beer.
i expect others will be a bit more help than me!

Well I did! as often as possible and it is not too bad at all. It tends to be either a local 'Stella' larger or the real imported version, neither one in my opinion bearing much resemblance to the other. There are also the usual imported larger beers. I would agree that local spirits do not have a lot to offer but are all of passable quality if drunk with a mixer. Most A.I. deals will be serving 'local' beer & spirits in the hotels or on cruise boats, all imported spirits are expensive. As you will see from other posts a good wine is hard to find in Egypt although a few are passable depending upon your preferences. Anyway you will be on holiday so who cares! Just sit down and chill out, after a couple of drinks it all tastes the same anyway.

The local 'Stella' is fine and about 4.2% ,
Sounds good to me! I will give them all a try. Many thanks, nine days to go.
there are three types of Stella (increasing in strength from 4.3)and all of them rate equally well with Amstel found in the Med
it's not a gassy as many British beers and I like it didn't like the Egyptian wine but the spirits are quite acceptable especially for the price
we could have got a bottle of Triple Sec for around £4 in the local supermarket last year

Don't forget to try "Sakara Gold" if you get a chance (It's a right good drop). Try this link for more info....

For a bit of variety, you could try Sakara Red (I think it's a bit more like an export beer).

My thought exactly, the drinks on offer will be the cheaper ones. DON'T DRINK THE WHITE WINE!, I can't remember tasting anything as bad as that before - horrible!! The red wasn't quite as bad. Stick to the 'Stella' or their own vodka
The Whisky is palatable with a mixer in it too
