I've been booking direct in Cyprus for years and never had a request for a UK cheque

They always insist on credit card/debit card payment for the deposit which I either phone through or fax.......(never send in an email as it's not secure )

Bank transfer sounds logical but I would check with the hotel before you send anything as like I say I don't know how they would bank it in Cyprus

I regularly pay a GB cheque (Yorkshire bank)into my CY bank account I get the going rate for the day it usually takes about 3/4 days to clear from the account in GB but around 10 days to finally clear in Cyprus.

We were asked last year to do the same. They converted our £100 deposit to Cyprus pounds, duly sent my Nationwide cheque with absolutely no problems.

Thanks for replying , i think i will send off a tsb cheque ,it should be ok as i have stayed at the hotel before i was just curious whether to send it in cyp or gbp
