tracy
I have to say, if you don't like heat I think you've chosen the wrong destination! This is Egypt, Egypt is very hot at this time of year!
If you have a look HERE, click on history then look for September 2005 (or any other year) you'll see the temps for that time.
I was in Sharm in August last year (first two weeks) and it was very hot. I didn't find it too hot to sunbathe though, I just went and sat in the sea every half hour or so!
Pippy
thanks pippy. did you find there was alot of mosquitoes there? i have a tendancy to get bit alot too! also is it a humid heat? or a dry heat? hope ive not chose the wrong place!!! thanks
I'd describe the heat as very dry during the day and quite humid in the evening.
So long as you're near the sea/pool you should be fine sunbathing I couldn't have stayed out in it for long without the water to cool me off!
Pippy
one more question before i bore you to death. how hot is is at night? does it cool down much? if not are all the bars and clubs etc air con??
thanks pippy!
We went into Naama Bay once, to the Hard Rock Cafe, and found the temp to be comfortable.
Pippy
air conditioned thats meant to say
thanks alot for that!! cant wait now. thank you!!
Just returned from Sharm el Sheikh and it was very hot indeed, it never went below 35 degrees and some days was over 47 and although this is unusual for this time of year the locals say it will only get hotter, i dont want to be the bearer of bad news but it is apprently very hot there in July and August the reps were telling us there isnt even a breeze, like we had, to cool you. There are most certainly mossies there nearly every one we spoke to had been beaten. A guy i met had not however and he swears by taking a garlic capsule every day for a month before he goes, he had not got one bite, so it must work.

Only 14 daqys 'til we are there so great but come July it goes mental 60 degrees is not too uncommon a temperature in the shade
Garlic caps do work, but we did get bit, but never turned into anything nasty, more itchy. But we still put cream on. We went may/June last year.
garlic caps work but just remember it wont be just the mozzies that dont come near you
The odourless kind actually
May I ask where are you going in Sharm?????
There are mossies!Got back last week and got bitten badly on my first night! I react badly, but got stuff from pharmacist that was great...just don't go out without protection would be my advice
I have a load of citronella candles and oil plus mossy plugs (we were going to Greece).....hope that will all do?????
the pharmacist out theresells a spray called 'off' which works really well, and they sell a yellow tube of insect bite gel which also works well if you do get bitten. If you arent sensitive it isn't a problem I don't think. My husband sits with me and never gets bitten, me I get blisters like 10p pieces!
squeeky - im staying in the concorde el salam. where are you staying?
by the way squeeky. im crew for first choice - surely we arent that bad!!! haha
