My husband and i are travelling to Margarita in June and (after a row with the receptionist) are booked into the travel clinic at the GP for vaccinations. Is there any definites on what we should have? There seems to be conflicting advice.
Also we are planning to go to Angel Falls so am wondering if we should be taking anti malaria tablets. Whats best to wear for this tour? I'm very fair so am thinking long sleeve cotton shirt?
Any advice gratefully received.
Welcome to the forums berniec. Please check out our Caribbean forum, where you should find lots of useful advice:
To be honest when we went to Margarita a few years a go we didn't have any injections. Perhaps advice has changed since then - I'd go with what your GP says as they should have up to date info.
We didn't do Angel Falls. However I'm fair like you I am fair, we went in May and I found that the sun can be very strong, especially on the beach, which is why I stuck mostly to the pool. Make sure you have plenty of lotion slapped on and if you are going out for the day have cool clothes you can layer as after the heat of the day you may find it a bit cooler on an evening when you are coming home.
I will close this one now so that we do not develop a repeat of discussion already contained in the Caribbean forum.
