Hi,
I'm just looking for advice off anyone who has worked the season in Santa Ponsa or indeed anyone who can help at all!
Myself and a friend are going for a week in Santa Ponsa in the 1st week in June and plan to stay for the season!
Can anyone tell me how easy it is to get bar/waitressing/pr work?! And how easy it is to get somewhere to stay for the season?!
Any help is massively appreciated!!
Cheers in advance!!
I would have thought that June might be a bit late as the majority of bars & restaurants will have their staff for the season sorted.
However when we were there last June we did see some waitressing jobs advertised - they were advertised in the windows of the restaurants. The best thing to do would be to walk round and see if you can see anything advertised. Also go in all the bars and ask around, there is a big British community there and people might know of places needing staff.

Thanks for that info!
I would prefer to go earlier but unfortunately due to uni commitments, we can't,June the 1st is the earliest we can go!
Does there tend to be a lot of people Pr-ing?
Thanks again!
Not a lot of PRs in Santa Ponsa. The PRs are regulated by the Calvia Council and the ones I have seen wear a blue tabard and are licensed through the bars.
Only a couple of bars in SP appear to use them.
The jobs I saw advertised were waitressing in Chinese restaurants.
Sorry cant be of more help.

June might be a bit late... you might be lucky enough to find work, people are always leaving, moving on or getting sacked! but accomodation may prove to be a bit harder... gets harder every year. Look for apartments with signs saying la aquiler as this means to let and phone the number or ask the other workers they may have a room spare in their apartment! When you arrive go to the bars about 8 or 9 when they are opening and ask about jobs... they may give you a trial which is normal practice! The majority of the bars do have pr's but there are laws now in place that only allow 1 pr per bar and 2 or 3 per club depending on the size of it and they now get to wear an 'attractive bib'! lol! black for pubs this year and red for clubs.
piece of advice.... if you are planning on working then use the first couple of days to get sorted with accommodation and a job.... the more you enjoy yourself by geting drunk everynight then the likelyness of you staying are zero as you won't get round to getting sorted! Also remember if you do get work you are getting paid to do a job therefore employers won't take kindly to you mucking them about (i.e. turning up late, getting so drunk you can't do your job, messing about etc) as you are likely to get sacked!!
if u need any other help just ask... good luck and have a great season!

No, that is a massive help!I know it will definitely be waitressing I am looking for!
It must be good if you've been so many times!!
Thanks for your advice-it really is a massive help!!
A bit worried now we might not find work! Will def be sorting it out as soon as we get there though so hopefully we will be lucky enough!Would we be best looking for accomodation before we go, or just wait till we get there?
Also how much is the average wage?and accomodation? Is it enough to live on your wage while your out there?
We will be bringing a lump sum with us but i doubt it will last for the season!
I've never worked away before or been to santa ponsa so any help is fantastic!
Thanks again,
Cherry
Waitressings probably one of the better jobs... get tips and dont need to deal with drunken idiots! And as long as your'e working early evening/nights you can go out every night as well and still be ready for work!!!
everyones really friendly and the workers are like a family... sometimes it can be a bit cliquey especially with the new workers but generally everyone gets on!
