Stuggling to decide between these 2 for next May/June- they both look lovely!
Would appreciate any comments and also recommendations on accommodation. Like the look of the Hotel Panorama in Petra and the Bacoli Studios in Parga (although I'm a bit concerned about the Bacoli Studios being close to a main road as I like it nice and quiet at night).
I've never been to Greece before although we're off to Georgioupolis on 31st May and I'm getting very excited!
I cant believe it's nearly time for you to go to Georgiopolis. Not sure if you remember but I answered a few questions for you because we stayed in the Leonidis studios.

Hello, I do indeed remember that. It's strange, it seems like a long time ago and yet at the same time it doesn't!
special. Have a look at the Direct Greece brochure/website for accommodation in Parga, they've got some really fantastic places in central locations - I can recommend Utopia Studios which are right on the main town beach.
Hi Gemma - Parga or Lesvos? I've been to both and would recommend Parga every time. Not that I didn't like Lesvos, it's lovely but Parga is
Parga everytime, but don't tell anyone don't want it to get over comercialised.
Lesvos go to Lesvos, Parga is awful don't go.
Oh alright, Parga is fantastic and yes it is special, nearly everybody who has been seems to have loved Parga (there is the ODD exception) and they go back time after time.
Parga has everything you could ever wish for without being to quiete or over commercialised.
We are back again in 9 weeks (today)
Lets keep it our little secret

Decided on Parga based on recommendations here. Going on 27th May next year for 2 weeks with Thomas Cook staying at the Akis Studios. I hope I've chosen a good one - can't find any reviews online. It has been awarded the Thomas Cook 'marque of excellence' based on previous traveller reviews so I'm hoping it's ok.
I have found some Akis Studios in Parga online, but they appear to be different ones as they only have 8 studios and no pool.
Would appreciate any info on them please!
Go to both, a week at each and see which you prefer, we were at both last year and are going to both this year and Stoupa as well. Everybody likes different things, you must try for yourself.
Hi Gemma, me and my boyfriend are off to Parga in Aug for the 2nd time as absolutly loved it two years ago when we went. We too are staying at the Akis studios and like you cannot find any reviews online which is really frustrating. I had a reply form someone on the parga.com website whose sister had been and said the studios were lovely and spotless and the owner was constantly cleaning the pool which is a good sign. I've also found them on some Italian websites so wondered if they are not exclusively Thomas Cook accommodation. If you are not going untill next year I can let you know what they were like when we get back. To anyone else looking for recommendations for accommodation we stayed at the Irini apartments through Kosmar two years ago and they were fantasic, spotless and the owners were so friendly, we tried to book here again this year but they were typically all booked up!

Hi Gemma again!, just found some info on Akis Studios. click on this link
PARGA no doubt
http://www.tripadvisor.com as well as previously on this forum
It took longer than I expected to hear from Kelvin!! He is a HUGE Parga fan, not sure if he has been to Lesvos. Well we are still looking for the right accommodation in Parga having travelled to Greece around 40 times. From the many positive reports about Parga I'm sure you wont be disappointed. We loved Lesvos, not overly touristy, empty roads and some very good beaches, you can read about our hotel on We're going to Lesvos in June (first time).
It sounds like just the sort of place we like, not too touristy with lots of traditional Greek tavernas.
Is Parga a similar type of place?
If so, I'll put it on my 'wish' list for next time.
Thanks
Polly
Thank you for all your responses - especially Charllotte for finding that website. I spent ages searching on the net and could find nothing, so I'm very grateful! It looks very nice and I have a good vibe about it. Can't wait! Only 2 weeks till I go to Crete though so that's all I'm thinking about at the moment!!
Lesvos Safari Tours organizes and structures Tours and Outdoor activities on the island 12 months a year, enabling the intrepid independent traveller, family, group or other to access the traditional wild side of the island. We also would like to propose a selected range of accommodations like hotels, villas, apartments, studios and rooms. You can book and rent a car in Mytilini and Molivos but also in many other places and villages of Lesbos island or delivered at the airport or port. Check for Air and Boat tickets, rates, availability and make reservations.
