Hey there
I lived in Tigaki for 3 years and trust me there is plenty to see and do. As for the local area there are 2 beautiful restaurants one is called ampeli its in the vinyards at the far end of tigaki dead romantic....but for a wide range of dishes at a good price (and fresh) visit Vasillis on the roundabout in tigaki, their souvlaki is to die for.
For more convenience food I strongly reccommend 7 dayz at the top of town (dont worry its only a small town)
For Bars there is a fantasic beach bar with beach and sunset views you will remember called Mickis its on the beach front and run by a very friendly australian. you can also hire sun beds from there during the day at a really good rate and there is quite an extensive light bite menu during the day too. At night its a great place for good company, good conversation and to really relax. (if you do visit tell mickey i said hi and i hope to visit there soon!!)
For a livelier night out you can also try the mascot bar they have karaoke, comedy, live music and a disco. (obv not all in one night haha) the staff there are also very friendly and i guarantee youll get a few good holiday memories from there too.
There are planty of places to hire a bike from though to be honest there are only really a few places you can cycle to, you can cycle to Kos Town it takes about 45 minutes and is a beautiful ride perfectly flat along the beach road, or if you are feeling more energetic then you can try cycling to mastihari its a beautiful fishing village. But why not try cycling to Zia, its a mountain village with the most breathtaking sunset, its also very typically greek with lots of little shops selling hand made goods and honey (the best part is that all the money that is made in the village is put right back into the economy of the village) there is also a lot more to do but im running out of room so if you need any further assistance send me a PM and ill be able to answer any questions you might have.

Hi there :)
I'm considering booking a fortnight's holiday in Tingaki but have never been to Kos before and am looking for somewhere that is central to both tavernas for the evening and beach in the day as I have M.E. Would anybody that's been before have any recommendations please?

I've previously enjoyed holidays in Lassi, Kefalonia due to the gorgeous beaches and the fact it's a good base for seeing the rest of the island. Based on that, would you agree that Tingaki is a good choice?

Any help VERY much appreciated.

Many thanks

Lou

Hi Lou.

We stayed in Tingaki about 4 years ago and really had a great holiday. It is basicaly 1 main street lined with a good choice of restaurants, bars and a couple of souvenir shops. The long beach runs adjacent to the top end of this street.

I would say you've made a good choice in opting for this resort. However if you're a beach lover you need to pick your accommodation carefully as you say you suffer with ME. Our hotel was at the other end of the resort to the beach. Whilst it didn't cause any problems for us, I feel the walk would be too far for you.

The accommodation was called the Ilios hotel and appartments :(just in case it takes your fancy, you'll be aware of the distance to the beach). We found there were more than enough restaurants to eat at a different one for the whole 14 days. Good luck with the search for accommodation. I'm sure you'll love Tingaki.

Good choice Carly.

We returned fro Kos a few weeks ago and had a look round the Marianna Studios (and a few more hotels)and it looked a really nice place set just off the main drag about 10 mins walk to the beach. Large white building with a nice pool and the rooms were spotless.

Hope you enjoy Tinkagi as much as we all did.

Enjoy.
