i too was in the airforce, stationed at luqa in 1971 and i have been going back almost every year since.
if you need to know anything there are many people on here who are glad to help. an expert for just about anything

thanks happychef, my father-in-law was stationed at Ta' Qali in the late '50s and early '60s. He and his family lodged with 2 sisters in Mosta for about 4 years before he was posted elsewhere.

My wife has fond memories of her time in Malta and as I said it was a fantastic reunion with her friends in 2004, over 40 years since she last saw them, she did keep in touch by letter and christmas cards etc.

The sisters are now in their '70s, still in the same house and very active, they put me to shame at 40 odd I can tell you!

I was never one for going abroad on holiday (dont like flying :oops: ) but since our first trip to Malta I have fallen in love with the place and not a day goes by without me thinking of it.
