I found the best policy was to follow the old saying "when in Rome........" If you try and drive like you do in England you'll get nowhere and have the sound of car horns ringing in your ears for days. Drive like the Maltese do and you'll be fine.
Last time we were there we took some Maltese friends out for a drive and one of them commented on the fact that "I drove like a true Maltese".
I took that as a compliment
