hyah guys.
we (me, my fiance and our 12 year old) are going to olu deniz in june for our first ever trip to turky.
i have loads of questions, so hope some of you will be able to help me out.
firstly, we are going all inclussive for one week at the olu deniz resort hotel.
to be honest, we have spent most of our money paying for the actual holliday, so wont have loads doe spending money.
i am a bit worried after reading all the posts that say prices have gone high.
obviously we wont be needing to buy food and many drinks, but will be wanting to go on a couple of trips, bring some pressents back and have enough for tips, visas and that kind of thing.
do you think that £500 will be enough to take with us for the week or will we need more?
secondly, we are veggies and so were wondering about the trips that include lunch, will we be better taking sandwiches or will they provide a veggi option?
thirdly, i am not the "fittest" person in the world , hahha and so wondered what trips people would advise for us.
many many thanks
just got to start counting down now!

oh, forgot one question. we are going 22nd of june till 29th, is anyone else going then?
You dont need to be fit for most of the trips. On the boat trips you can sunbathe the whole way and the jeep safaris involve a lot of sitting down!
as long as there is salad, we should be ok. i was just concerned that it might all be meat and we would starve!
i am quite good at haggling, last year was tunisia and so got it down to a fine art there.
how much would you recomened to take to have a decent time?
same as bridd - plenty of bread, salad, chicken
ps. if you want to do something more daring like the paragliding from the mountaines that will probably cost around £45-50 per adult. apparently the ride up is worse than coming down
i have a map of where the oludeniz resort is if you want me to send it let me know, im most likely going to book this for oct as the food sounds great for my fussy daughter and the price is good
Took £650 last year for 2 weeks - 3 of us. Although we were AI still ate out 5- 6 evenings £30 -£35 with soft drinks and a glass or 2 for me! (kids always ate of the full menu)
Only organised trip we did was the jeep safari £35 ish for 3 . You can do it cheaper but as i was with my 2 kids wanted a larger jeep with seatbelts. Rest of the time we got out and about to places like Kaya Koy, Hisonaru and Fethiye by dolmus or taxi - I don,t really like organised trips but we will do Dalyan and the jeep safari this year.
£500 should be plenty with enough for some treats - turkish bath , shoes and hanbags etc
Lally
Encouraged by what you are all saying as I was thinking of taking 1000k for the fortnight for the 4 of us, so seems like that should be ample with the AI paid for already.
Sounds like my plans are similar to yours Lally, want to do a jeep safari, mud baths, visit Kaya Koy and Fethiye. Was also going to try and get a day pass into Lykia World if poss, although having second thoughts at present.
Can you get to Marmaris from Olu or am I getting all mixed up?
- think if I took my 2 to Lykia they may never leave
I looked into going to Icmeler for the day. Didn,t want to drive on turkish roads with a constant chorus of "are we there yet " and was told that by public transport would take around 4 hours each way so gave it a miss.
The £650 didn't include the private transfer by the way and there wasn't much change!
Lally
I've budgeted for the transfer seperately cos I know it's quite alot.
I'm not expecting to bring any money back either and always take a card for back up, sometimes I put a trip or two on a card to make the cash last
With the Lykia thing I'm wondering about going next year anyway, and it seems a bit odd to spend a day there this year if I'm going to do that. Its on that shortlist I mentioned. LOL.
Lally
we struggled to get rid of a grand in 2 weeks there last year, despite hiring an entire boat just for us !!
Got back from Olu Deniz late last nite stayed at Sun Club City
i will obviously take my cardsm but just prefer not to come back with a bill.
Have ben to Icmeler before , but not olu - can anyone help me by telling me which days the market in Fethiye is on and whether the lacoste polo's etc are as widely available in the stores as they are in Icmeler?
I am planning on travelling light
hi, yes there is a market at hisaronu on mondays, and at fethiye on tuesdays as for the tops they will have them, for me i always buy the slightly dearer ones as they seem to last longer
