We are going to Salou in 2 wks time.I hope the weather picks up by then.I'm wondering about the smoking situation.From what you say it sounds like they are really clamping down on it.Are the tobbacco shops still in Salou or are they now closed down?

I'm sure the weather will have more than picked up then. The water park opens on the 13th May so must be when the weathers a bit better then. I think it costs 19euros for adults for the day and 15euros for kids.

With regards to cigarettes, apparently the Spanish law regarding smoking in bars/restaurants doesnt come into affect until September but they are getting themselves prepared early so that it's not a case of one day you can smoke and the other you cant... They are being really strict about it. I dont personally smoke but it took my mates ages to find a fag machine and that was in a kids arcades of all places!! They didnt mind smoking outside one bit, but there were some people being disrespectful and having a sneaky fag inside.

We found a tabacconist in the centre of salou, but they werent mega cheap. It was 35euros for 200 L&B Which is around £25. You could get cheaper ciggies tho. All else failing u can get them at Reus airport. I got my mum 2000 Royals for £180. Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply.We were there last year and it was 27euro for 200. I heard they are gone up.I don't really mind the smoking outside as i live in Ireland where the smoking ban is in place for the last year but there's a big difference going outside to smoke in wet and windy Ireland than what it'll be in hot and balmy spain (hopefully)

we are just back from salou had a blinder for a week.
ciggies go to the front street on by the beach just paid 100 euro for 800 l and b dont bother trying to barter they are the same in most places.
idols was a great night out but we spent most of our time in the cavern kareoke bar and chaplins.
i would stay away from 007 its full of idiots 2 nights we went and twice there was trouble.
snoopys is ok however they charge you to get inj on a weekend and honestly it isnt worth it.

we jjust back from saslou this morning,ciggies were found on main street ..... easily the only thing i would give warning to was watch the nigerians outside the shops trying to get you in to their shops and the hair braiding women, a small part of your hair was 10-15 euros!! As for the weather it was really hot and supposedly getting better it only had a shower on wednesday!
