I went at the beginning of November last year. I know this is a bit later than you're going but it was in the early 70's then, so I assume it would be roughly the same when you're going if not warmer.
It does get quite chilly in the evening as there's quite a strong breeze at times.
Will be taking my 13 & 11 yr old on first oversea hol in august (staying at the barcelo la galea). Having read all the posts, i feel like i know the place already but just one more question.
I'm looking forward to trying some genuine tapas and canarian cuisine - i like try some thing new that i cant get at home. my 13 yr old can be persuaded to at least have a taste but my 11yr old is strictly nuggets/burgers/chips or mash & gravy and even at that if its not just right he would rather starve.
Can any one tell me if there is any restaurant/bar that will keep all 3 of us happy. I really dont want to spend the holiday living on chips with everything - on the other hand i think starving a child for a week may be illegal.
Any advice gratefully recieved
Many thanks in adavnce

there are so many places you can try in CT, especially if your 11 year old will compromise a little. The are numerous chinese places, and there is a good tex mex place..which even did nuggets for my then 11 year old who was also a fussy eater! There is also the sunburnt arms that will sort something out for the kids and also a bar i think called the bulldog...oh yes, and all the usual pizza places..luckily for us, the boy is now almost 14 and nowhere near as fussy..
Ah.... The Bulldog, never quite grasped the appeal of that place
Big Al... the appeal for us was that it did breakfast for less than 3 euro's....
There is a very nice Tapas bar in Costa Teguise. Go into the square from the beach side and take a right after Chispas bar (best value bar in town)which takes you into another small square with a good Tapas bar. If you are staying in La Galea the half board offer of 14 euros per day for an adult and 7 euros for a child with under 8s free will not be beaten!!!!! With a lot of spanish and other nationalities staying there the food is really varied and for the price is excellent. I stayed there in August last year and returned at October half term and have just spent another week at Easter, you wont be dissapointed!!
you get what you pay for tho, anything less than 3 euros sounds a bit dodgy to me!and if you like to sit in less than clean surroundings then fine but have a good look around there are some really nice places in ct for brekkie, also there is a really nice tapas bar near playa bastian/santa rosa area, casa luis.
also there is a new tapas just along from the celeste hotel on your way to the post office, dominiques, they have a 5 star restaurant in the village of tahiche,so must be good!
hi we went to el patio in the square (up from the lighthouse on the right ) boxing night had a fantastic meal there were ten of us and we all had great meals they were so well prepared we didnt know wether to eat them or frame them, prawn cocktail and pinapple ice cream a must havent seen them prepared like this any where all meat dishes were cooked precisely as we ordered.
I've never been to Lanzarote before, but am going to Costa Teguise in August (38 days-not that I'm counting!!) Really looking forward to it but i was wondering if anyone could give me some more info on the area.We are staying in Los Carmenes complex (next to El Trebol), and I just wanted to know if we are near any bars and restaurants or if we'll have to walk far?? Also, are the bars etc all pretty centrally located and near eachother or is it a case of that they're quite spread out??
Cheers in advance for the help guys!!

you will love it, plenty of bars and places to eat. i cant remember that hotel, but make sure you have a good walk round the resort.
be carefull in the sun as its windy and people dont think its that hot.
have a great holiday.
Hello, me and the other half have booked to go to the Coronas Playa Hotel for this new year, and wanted to know if there any good bars near it or do we have to go the square and if so is it far to walk.
Cucharas beach.
Thanks sutty, just the job 25 mins is just about night, not so much the going its the coming back if you know what I mean
loads of places sell English food so if you like that then you'll be fine. Not enough authentic places to eat etc for me.
Hello again, are there any Music/Karaoke bars near the Coronas Playa Hotel? or again is it best to go to the main sqaure for this sort of thing.
