I haven't been to Kalkan, but love Gocek!

It's flat for a start, small, with some great restaurants - The Kebab Hospital and the Blue Bar.

Gentle and quite sophisticated, along by Port Gocek you are going to find some very expensive Yachyts moored! Skopea Marina (in the other direction is quite beautiful and rustic).

l exactly agree with Heid. Gocek is really nice place it has a nice port. You can take 12 island boat trip from Gocek by good boats.

i totally agree what a lovely place you can really unwind in this beautiful marina port with it flurry of small shops and restaurants well worth a vist

We've been to Gocek and Kalkan a number of times - in fact we did a twin-centre split between the two a while back, and it's a nice mix.

Gocek is absolutely beautiful - it's natural setting is superb. Kalkan is an attractive spot, but it much more arid than Gocek.

The big differrence is that Gocek revolves around its three marinas. It means that there is less choice of restautrants as it's much quiter in the day, and those that front directly onto the waterfront are expensive. Having said that, almost everywhere has less choice of restaurants than Kalkan, and you certainly will find alternative places to eat if you feel like it.

There's a smaller choice of shops (unless you want spare parts for your yacht), but Fethiye's only 20 mins by dolmus, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Gocek's bay is its really big sellnig point. If you like the idea of lazing around on boats surrounded by outstanding scenery then it's for you. If you like looking at incredibly expensive boats it's also for you.

It's other big attractions are that, as already mentioned, it's flat - we got around quite a bit on bike. It's also only 20 minutes from Dalaman.

I like Gocek. The market was very good. We arrived the the day after Prince Charles sailed off on a yacht. That gives you an idea of the sort of yachts you find there. I thought the prices were a bit more expensive than other resorts, but still affordable really.
