Hi. I would say Gouvia or Dassia they are both within easy reach of Corfu town. About 20 mins. Dassia has a long sand/shingle beach and is not too crowded. There is also a fantastic regular bus service in to Corfu Town from early in the morning through to late evening. If you want to base yourself at a bigger livlier resort then maybe Ipsos which is a bit further on from Dassia would be more suitable.

Hi Katy's clan,

you might get more response asking this question on the Corfu forum. We've just got back from Corfu and love it there. However we stayed in Kassiopi which sounds much too far for you. I will do some research and get back to you. We've also been AI but enjoy the freedom of self catering. You can try out the different cuisine in various restaurants at reasonable prices. Speak to you soon.

Hi... I am so sorry, i didn't see the Corfu Forum :? (I looked as well for the best one to post in)

shirley h...That would be great. We have been to Corfu twice now, we stayed at the Kerkera Golf Hotel in Alekes Potamos (sp) it was very near to the town and we fell in love with the place...it is very much like Venice in many ways and we love the little winding streets etc.

Ag Gordis. brilliant, very quiet small resort - 1/2 hr in taxi and reg. bus service from Corfu Town and the most fabulous sunsets that side of the island (west)

Hi Katy,
how busy or quiet does it need to be. Are you a group of friends or a family with young children. If you could give a bit more info I may be able to help with some suggestions. Cheers,

Hi Katy,
just found a good website for you. Try http://www.Corfu-maps.com. It not only shows you maps of Corfu but also lists all the resorts and describes them in Detail. I think Gouvia might be a resort you'd like to consider. Take a look.

I would say AgGiordios or Glyfada look great resorts and I have visited both. Lovely sandy beaches and plenty to do and see.

Do yourself a favour and steer well clear of brash tacky places like Ipsos and dassia.
