i was recommended to try this turkish company by a uk company. they told me that most uk hotel only companies book through turkish ones, not sure if it will be any cheaper lyn

Oh Ive just booked it with Portland. Im just no good at waiting and after being told the prices wouldnt be out until aug that just finished me off. i couldnt run the risk of portlands price going up. The price I got from them for Egypt at easter has now gone up for £400

im 80% confident that my price is a good one. just hope ive done the right thing

I've just posted in BB thread as i saw it before this thread. What date do you go? Luton is really easy from where we are.

I'm sure you've done the right thing if their prices for your Egypt holiday have gone up all ready. Also you know that you like Olu Deniz and the reviews on the Bel Beach are brilliant. So really you can't go wrong.

i havent booked hotel in olu yet as i dont think ill have any probs 9th oct is out of season.

my mother has just arrived from turkey today she lives there and said so far this month for tourists has been a lot quieter than last may

Yep i thought it might be quite- They had the bird flu panic this year didnt they which im sure put a lot of people of booking at the time . Every year Turkey seems to suffer right at the wrong time . be it bird flu, bombs, earthquakes. they never seem to escape a year

im sure it will pick up tho.

doepsmc - we go on on 23rd july which is a monday late afternoon flight times which i suppose could be worse, but the flights from gatwick/stanstead werent any better at £200 more. This is the most i have ever paid for a holiday. I have never taken the children in the summer holidays ever, but now GCSE times are here for the next few years looks like we will have to pay.

I'm going on the Friday flight from Gatwick this year. It was really odd because I had quite a bad flight time originally with thomsonfly, but quite early on I was changed to a mytravel plane and the flight times are actually a lot better. LOL.

Because of bird flu in Jan which is a main booking month, & loads in the travel press about price rises on food/drink I don't think people booked Turkey. I guess Airtours and Thomson had half a plane load each and put them together.

Gosh its a bit scary booking your most expensive holiday ever, I'm sure it will live up to your expectations, probably best not to think about the cost. Just look forward to it instead.
