I would love to have 4 weeks for a holiday! Sounds great and what a fantastic time to go- when its cold and miserable here.

Have not stayed at the hotel but have seen it and its location and it looks good but if you have not booked a hotel I would definetly investigate exactly where you want to stay in KL before you choose, Traders hotel is opening in july and it looks like it is close to KLCC and its room rates look reasonable (I recommend using trip advisor to help you chose).

I would recommend maybe booking your internal flights before you leave as I booked my Langkawi flights a month before I left and the only ones left were early morning and late night so had to pay the extra for business class seats to get a daytime flight (although it was only about £15 extra to Langkawi).

If you want to book a hotel in KLCC area you can't go far wrong with the Mandarin Oriental...right next to Petronas...great hotel.

Thats the thing with KL you have to decide if you want to be at KLCC (then book Manderin Oriental or Traders) or near Bukit Bintang area (book Park Royal, Marriot, Westin, Berjaya Times Square, Ritz Carlton) or some where in between (book Shagri-La, Crowne Plaza, Istana, Concorde, New World/Renaissance).
My personal choice is the Bukit Bintang area as there is more going on and it has the shopping centre with the best bargains (sungai Wang)

When you get land at KLIA don't bother with the taxi's just come out of arrivals/luggage reclaim area walk accross the lobby area to the lifts and go to the lowest floor and get on the KLIA express (it takes less than 30 minutes to get to KL (taxis rake over an hour) and only costs 35RM (works out less if you buy a return ticket) and the trains go every 15 minutes.

As theres two of us travelling we go for the taxi from KLIA...as the cost and time saving using the train is minimal...plus the taxi takes you straight to your door...no messing about lugging bags about after a 11 hour flight.

The lugging of the bags is always a problem if you are travelling light the train is definetly better also if you are arriving in KL at around 4PM (traffic jam time) or when it is raining the train might be better as I have had the journey some times take over 2 hours because of traffic jams.

We must have been lucky...its never taken us more than 45minutes to get into KL by taxi..plus at 160 ringitt return in a limo (well a Proton Perdana :) ) can't go wrong. Not much chance of us travelling light I'm afraid with all the KL shopping opportunities :)

Sometimes when I arrive in KL my luggage is light but never when I leave
