Hi all
Just back from sunny san antonio last night and thought i would do a brief quicky review. Firstly the weather was fab, worst day was thursday 25th, only 23degrees and moderatly cloudy, since then its been a miniumum of 28 degrees and wall to wall sunshine, yesterday it hit 31 degrees and have got the photots of the temp gauge in the square in san antonio to prove it.
I got there just in time for mambos big opening night on thursday and Bar M's opening night on Friday. San was reasonably busy but got a lot busier over the weekend. ]
They have laid what appears to be a new beach!!! its like builders sand, quite sharp and not very nice, every other morning a tractor goes down the beach trying to smooth it out but it isnt the best place to lie on.
The west end....still the pits, but worth a laugh if you like it. there is quite a bit of road works going on at the moment through the west end but ive been told its finishing shortly.
Stayed in the Arenal, will do a proper review later, great location but bad location if that doesnt sound irish. The hotel was great, with great sea views but is close to the main road on one side so lots of traffice noise and the promenade on the other with lots of screaming kids going past at 5 inthe morning, so got little sleep and wont be going back there again.
Some great place to recommend, Villa mercedes, Bar M, Mambo, Savanha...dont bother with coastline cafe at the moment, the sunsea bar next door is like a building site and nothing is open around cala de moro
Anyway, will give a proper review later, must rush, got work to do
Any questions, then please just ask
Welcome back Lukey.
What are prices like this season? eg Pint of San Miguel?
Not expensive enough for me to notice or grumble about, more expensive prices around the sunset strip and restuarants, particullary villa mercedes
Did see signs for san miguel being 2.00€ a pint, but tht was around the bay
Food prices were equally as varied from cheap and chearful to mega expensive, too be honest i never look at the prices when deciding on where to eat or drink:oops:
i stayed in figueretas... the drinks were very reasonable... 2.40euros for a pint of lager... but then we went to cafe mambo on the opening night, and i paid 9 euros for two bottles of san miguel... very expensive i thought... there are the cafes in the side streets that was very reasonably priced for good food, but the sunset strip was expensive!
