whar crawlies are in egypt? are ther any cockroaches and if there are how big? went to lanzarote last year and our room was whickd with them they were the size of my foot which is a size five, they were climbing up the walls and one fell out of my hubbys shirt when he put it on urggggg and we were on the 2nd floor
i know you expect something in a hot country but size 5 cockroaches i cannot stand.
cheers
they were the size of my foot which is a size five,
Size five? Let me see now, that would be just a juvenile. The bigger ones have usually eaten them before they reach a size five. Any larger ones that survive can grow even larger (say up to a size Eleven) these are usually captured and made to pull donkey carts by poor Egyptian farmers especially in sugar cane fields. The best way of keeping them out of your room is to get one of the 'Giant' spiders that live everywhere in Egypt and put it in your bathroom, or better still a scorpion!
Sorry I could not resist that. But don't worry Shazza, IMO the cockroaches are no bigger in Egypt than anywhere else in the world. I personally have rarely seen them when staying in Egypt and the ones I saw were not 'scary' In fact I have always found Egypt particularly free from 'creepy crawlies' and I have never found one in my hotel room.
But................. others may disagree
well i been 6 times to sharm and i never seen any i know hotel i stay in use like a smoke machine kills all bugs if any am sure u seen more in spain there here
thanx for that tez, not, i am petrified of bloody spiders, especially if they are so big you can see the colour of their eyes so that did not go down well. staying at the calimera royal moderna which is supposed to be 5* so hopefully they will take care of them for me. you mock about the size but believe me i know you are not supposed to stamp on roaches but i did attempt but the bloody things were the size of my shoe, they frightened the shit out of me and i spent the rest of my holiday searching the room just in case. the hotel gave us spray which we used and when we came back to our room they were even lying above the cooker and in drawers of the wooden kind
