I booked a holiday this week, paid via my debit card over the phone.
The invoice has arrived and shows I must pay another £30???
The company is Thompson.
Surely this is their mistake when taking the booking?Should I just accept the extra charge?
We are due to fly on Sunday.
Do they say what the £30 difference is? Could it be for instance 3 flight meals?
They have sent the invoive for £568 (so it's £22.5 extra not £30 oops!)
Listed is the stuff I had booked over the phone, but with a different total.
You'd have been given a booking ref when you were on the phone. Give them a ring and ask what this extra amount is for. As a gesture of good will they may wave this small amount seeing as you have paid, what you thought was the final total, in full.
They tell me I'll not have to pay anything else, another invoice will be sent with the balance at zero, apparently the late booking discount was not added to this one.
Still, sent me into a panic!
Lets hope there are no other hitches
Glad your sorted Toondad. Enjoy your holiday
Thanks, I hope we do!
Just to add to the good advice already offered, it's always worth asking the company to access their telephone recordings and print out a transcript. Most telesales operations are recorded.
My son had a price problem 3 years back - I asked for tape transcript. The position was resolved by the T.O. claiming the tape had been overwritten, but they would honour the lower price anyway
Whatever. Sorted.
