we have been through palma airport loads of time, their is signs saying baggage you follow them it takes about 20 minutes, but my daughter who is 7 thinks its great because they have moving walkways to get you their plus everyone who gets of the plane is going the same way so just follow them thats what we did the first time yes it is a big airport but we love it.

its big not so bad when you get there its when you are going home i think there is about 170 check in desks did not like it one bit. mind you once we checked in it was that far to departures that we never got to sit down it was straight on to the plane and home worth it though cause it is a loverly island

its a lovely airport the seating is very uncomfortable but the walk is never ending just dont hang about when you get there until youve got spare time to have a look around and pay a visit to palma when your there is beautiful

Sometimes you get a bus right to baggage reclaim. The return walk is along way but lots of retail opportunities on the way and seats.

Thought this was worth a mention.

Due to todays events in Palma Nova, Spanish security services have launched 'Operation Cage' which has resulted in the closure of Palma Airport and Sea Port in a bid to catch the culprits.

Easyjet and Ryanair have urged passengers to continue checking in as normal

If you are due to travel BAA advises to travel to the airport as normal

If you are in resort a TUI Group statement advises holidaymakers to 'attend pickups and trasnfer locations as normal'

Flights with low reserves are being allowed to land, others are being diverted and no departures are taking place.

Aena have referred statements to the Police, Easyjet hope the airport will reopen later this evening

So, don't panic, just turn up as normal

The airport has already re-opened.

just read this thread. A work colleague's mother was flying into Palma today to join a cruise ship. I do hope they got away safely.

We are flying to Palma Majorca in april and I would like to find out which terminal jet 2 use so I can plan my onward and return transport to and from the airport.
many thanks

There is only 1 terminal at Palma. It is a very big airport split into a number of interconnecting buildings. So passengers leave the terminal via the same exits.

Jet2 are at the beginning of the Terminal along with Easyjet and Ryanair (low number check in desks)

2 levels for arrivals and departures ,upper is departures lower is arrivals (same building though)
After landing you come out on the lower level where the taxi/bus/hire cars are ,flying back you need to go right to the other end of the building for uk flights

Jet 2 are to the very far left of the check-in hall....first row of check-in desks :)
