My son got an ear infection last friday, we were just allowed to fly home on sunday, he had diahorrea all last week and on friday came out with spots!!!
I took him to our casualty department on saturday and they said measles!!!
Does anybody know, how long before the spots came out, would he have been in contact with another person carrying the measles virus?
I am hoping that it was from school, otherwise there could be a whole aircraft of people at risk!!!!
It can't be helped though, you weren't to know. Also many people have been vaccinated against measles.
I think it's around 7 - 14 days. Once the spots are out you aren't contagious.
My son has been vaccinated too!!!!
These things do happen. I got whooping cough as a child despite being vaccinated. Tsk.
Apparently, he was in contact with somebody approx 9-11 days before the spots came out, so we can name the days now!!!
