I have tried a dummy booking for PP to go anytime this year, I am now unable to select a kids den suite for the amount of people in my party. What will happen to us when we get there? Will they say the room is not big enough and make one of us sleep in the coridoor or something?

2 adults and 3 children, one being in a cot.

Maybe a problem with the website but don't want to get annoyed when we get there.

Anyone any ideas what to do?

I think its a problem with the website as someone else mentioned it previously in this thread.

You shouldn't have a problem, there is a double bed with two bunks for the kids and then your cot will be delivered.

I got back from 2 weeks at the Pegasos Palace last Monday, 7th June and have just surfaced from the washing/ironing to be able to post a review!

My husband and I and our two children (7 & 4) had a great holiday. Everything was really lovely and even though we had one or two tiny little problems during the holiday they were only very minor things that you would incur on any holiday.

We stayed in a Jaccuzi room, our children visited the kids club every day and approx every other night (9-11), we ate at the Italian and Turkish restaurants, there are 6 pools and we stayed around the childrens pool next to the kid's club every day (we were able to relax knowing the kids were in their depth and they had the slides/fountains to entertain them) and visited the slide pool and jacuzzi pool once or twice during the day, we went to the market in Sarigerme (pronounced SA-REE-GER-MEE) and bought far too many Gucci and Chloe handbags, Lacoste tops, Tag and Omega Watches, Game Boy advance games, DVDs...... etc etc. We booked two day trips with the lovely Mustafa of Sarigerme Tours (get a taxi from the hotel (7 lira) and when you get out of the taxi at the taxi rank in Sarigerme, Sarigerme Tours is about two shops up (the market on Sunday is at the top of the street so ask the driver to drop you up there). We did the Dalyan mud bath trip, very good and the kids loved getting messy with the mud, just make sure you bring spare swimwear/clothes. We also did the Jeep Safari which my children (and my husband and I) said was the best day of our holiday! It was such fun. I was worried it would be a bit hard for the children but they absolutely loved every minute and we saw so much. While we were on the safari we stopped at various points (I'm not going to tell you all about it and give it all away!) but there were other jeep safaris and the guides seemed really boring, whereas our guides (there were two jeeps) would be the ones getting soaking wet showing us what to do at the various stops (I'm still not going to spoil it). Anyway, I would definitely recommend the jeep trip if you have children over 4. It cost £20 per adult and £10 for my 7 year old, my 4year old was free and this included lunch at a fantastic restaurant up a the mountain which was by a natural spring river (ok, I'll tell you a little bit and say that there was a swing that you could go on and you leap into the river! The guides and a few of the kids/men did it (freezing water) but even though I went on the swing I couldn't leap into the water!). A really beautiful setting. Also, with Mustafa's Dalyan trip lunch is included and the trip was something like £15 per adult and £7.50 for my 7 year old and free for the 4 year old and the lunch was included. With the FC Dalyan trip it costs £20 per adult and £10 for over 6's but you then have to pay 13lira for your lunch!

Anyway, it was a really lovely holiday and if anyone with kids around our age (4 & 7) and wants info on how we managed to have 'romantic' dinners alone on probably 7 out of our 14 nights or any other info please ask. I'll try to look at this on a daily basis.

PS!
I forgot to say that both my children did Swim Kids and the two instructors were excellent. All of the In2Action staff are excellent and the entertainment team.

Also, even though my 4 year old son couldn't attend the soccer school, my husband did the 'lads and dads' football game which takes place once or twice a week. This is basically where the soccer school coaches and in2Action staff team up against the over 16s (however this seemed to consist of all over 30s dads). Playing football in the afternoon in 30 degree heat is hard work but my hubby loved it and has been telling everyone he knows what it's like to train at La Manga now! In case you are wondering, the Dads beat the Soccer School coaches!

Re. the Ice Cream - it is the european version of Walls (Algida) - (my husband works for Unilever who own this company) and it was really, really lovely! My daughter is allergic to egg and the all inclusive ice-cream on our holiday in Crete last year had egg in it and she was really sick on the first day. The ice cream at PP is egg free and delicious! During the day (apart from lunchtime at the main buffet restaurant) you get the free ice-cream at the beach bar. On the map it looks as though everything is very far apart, however, to walk from the childrens pool by the kids club to the beach bar takes about 2-3 mins and to walk there from the main buffet restaurant would take about 5 mins (if that).

Lastly, it was very hot while we were there and whilst there was a breeze coming in from the sea, I did feel that with young children I really wouldn't want to be there in July/August. If you are going there then, I would say to definitely get sunbeds under the big canopys or get an umberella and to be in and out of the pools alot (and drink lots).

I was bitten quite a lot on holiday (approx 20 bites), my daughter wasn't bitten at all, my son and husband had about 10 bites. We all used Soltan aftersun with insect repellent and Boots Insect spray and I was still bitten loads. I did hear that there is a mosquito spray that you can get in the shop at the hotel and it is really good.

Over and out!

Oh Ellie you have me worried again now im going in august with my 5yr old who im not worried about as we were in the canaries with a heat wave in aug and he was fine as he spends all day in the pool but also my baby who will be just 1yr old 2 days before we fly...........i was hoping with lots of time in the pool and plenty of drinks he would be ok and when out of the pool if he is in the shade (i am getting an australian sun shade for the buggy which is meant to be very good and also have a buggy fan) honestly do you think im wrong to take him then? I was quite happy that i have it all covered and he will be fine but if he is miserable then i will be too........Turkish people have small children (this is what i kepp telling myself) also it is the only time of year i can go on hols due to my husbands work commitments.

I am very intrigued to hear about the romantic meals......i wasnt imagining any of those on hol we dont usually manage it!!!!!!

Anyone who went last aug is the pool water warm then? Im sure i read before somewhere it was but i dont think ive been anywhere yet with warm pool water when you first get into it i always find it frezzing!!

I went to PP last August, although my children are much older (they were 8 and 15 at the time) I did see lots of young children and babies there and I do not remember any of them lookin distressed. Although it is very hot I am sure that if you take all the precautions you mention your baby will be fine, there are lots of large sun shades and good air conditioning indoors.

With regards to the pools, the deeper ones were cold when you first got in but this was extremely welcome. The shallow pools were much warmer, obviously they were warmed quicker by the sun.

Hope this helps, enjoy your holiday - we certainly did and we are returning with friends in october.

hi all, i went out last year with my 18 month and 9 yr old in aug and we loved it that much we are going again in july/aug. there is plenty of shade if you want it near the pools.

i took the mozzie coils with me, the ones you light at night and give a smoke off nothing bad, but put them on your table and we found that to be good and we never went in the amphithertre, as lots of people were saying that they were getting bit in there becos of all the spot lights in threre.
we fly out 20th july for 2 weeks and can not wait so hope to meet up with plenty of people and have a few :glynis

see you all there the kilshaw family :wave

Hi Vicky
We took our 1 year old to Cyprus last year he is blonde and very fair we constantly put sun factor 50 sun cream on him made sure he drank loads ( if you give the baby fresh orange check 1st that its not concentrate made up with tap water, because we had that problem last year) and also brought the all in one swimsuits that completely block the sun which we brought from BHS they are quite expensive but worth it will definitely be investing in some more this year.
As for the mozzies my sister and her family always takes odorless garlic capsules just before she goes and while she is there and never gets bitten - think i will be trying them this year after reading how bad it is at Turkey.

Hi Kilshaw family
We fly out on the 20th July too. We are going to the Tropical - cant wait :hyper
Did you go to the Tropical while you were there? If so any reviews for us please.
Here's to a great holiday :glynis

Hi donm1
did you book creche in advance or when you got there? Did it get booked up quick. How many people did they have looking after the little ones?
UV that was the word i was looking for earlier for the costume i got for my little one last year thanks donm1 :D Cheaper in next that bhs, well worth it aren't they?
So only good comments on the hotel then?
Was it very hot out there.
Hi Vikkib
I would say £800 is plenty but i would take a cc for emergencies.
The kids should be fine read mine and donm1 posts just above yours.
There is so much to do there I'm sure the kids will have a great time.
All Inclusive for the kids I feel are definitely a must, because you don't have to put the kids on a budget how much they can eat or drink and if they don't like something they just get something else. And the unlimited ice cream goes down a treat in the hot weather.

You mentioned you never went in the Amphitheatre did you find the entertainment in the bars to be sufficient for you?
I have already spoke to a couple of people who have already been re the amphitheatre as i thought i wouldnt be able to get the buggy up the levels in it but looking at photos i can if i want to so i was just going to play that one by ear when i got there but i am assuming all the best entertainment is in there????

Hi again Kilshaw family Nice to hear someone else is going to the Tropical rather than the palace Its funny cos in the brochure it says the slides are in the palace but I've seen the photo's and thought the same the slides are better in the Tropical.
It sounds like most of the entertaining goes on in the palace is this true or has there just not been much posted about the Tropical? The foam party at the palace looks absolutely wicked - can't wait  (big kid at heart - hubby is an even bigger 1!!)
Thanks for your info think i will book little man in the creche now.
Where do you fly from?
We have terrible time flights we depart at 2155hrs and get there early hours and return flight is i think 0400hrs :yikes We have booked the room for late check out but we only have it till 1800 FC said we have to book it from 1800hrs onwards when we get there do you think this will be a problem? And do you know do you still get the AI on that last day?
Reply
you do still get AI on the last day, we were offered to keep the room on after 1600 last year but it was very expensive so we did'nt bother and just put our cases in the secure room at reception and just went for dinner and for a drink as usual.

sorry that meant to say after 1800hrs
