Hi All,
Well i have never known 2 weeks to go so quick, but as they say time flys when you are having fun! (and boy did we have fun)
Well we stayed at the Sun Aparts in the armutulan area, the aparts are near club julian, for those that dont know
We have never stayed at these apartments before as i normally do my own package deals, however credit must be given to first Choice, the apartments are rated at 2* and to be honest they are the best 2* i have stayed in, 2 big bedrooms with 2 single beds in each, a large lounge with 2 pull out beds if needed, a nice clean kitchen with working and very hot 2 ring hob, kettle and toaster (all you need for self catering) Nice clean tiled bathroom with excellant shower (allways hot water) 2 nice balconies and we had the bonus of a pool view.
Maid service every day with towels changed twice a week. Large pool however at 1.8m deep not so good for those that like to touch the bottom There was a small kids pool and playground on site, as well as a general public kids play park next door.
The staff Mehmet, Roberto, Charlie, Columbo and mama and papa were all excellant and could not do enough for you.
On site pool bar and restuarant all reasonably priced with happy hours between 7pm and 9pm every night.
As for the holiday, well as to be expected it was fun fun fun, excellant bar/ restaurant next door (Rainbow fun pub big hello to Mehmet and vicky thanks for all the good times i will make a belly dancer yet ) food here was excellant also with enterainment every night, and a big wide screen for all the football fans
Marmaris seemed very quite for this time of year, however as i normally go in august, i was not sure if this as the norm, but after speaking to various people this was most not the norm!! (with the turks stated people going to germany and bird flu as the reason)
This obviously had a reflection on the prices the first few days of june, English breakfast was 5ytl but as the days past the priced droped with it selling as low as 2.5ytl in some places and with the exchange rate then at 2.75, bargains were to be had.
We hired our own jeep this time and set of on our own jeep safari, visiting icmeler, turnc, and the turgat waterfalls with a stop at Bayir village and a walk round the 2000 year old tree for good luck
Along with a few watersports the remainder of the holiday was resting by the pool or going for walks about (what no waterpark)
Over all still excellant value for money, weather was as expected hot, with the odd cloud here and there. average prices for chicken dishes were 10/12ytl with most steak dishes at 18ytl, efes ranged from 2.5ytl to 4ytl on the beach front, still lots of BOGOF offers everywhere too. the Marmaris thursday market was as busy as every but i thought the bazar was a little more relaxed than normal.
Well thats about all for now roll on October
