Travelling down for a week in July staying just outside Caerleon. If anybody has any "must see" places or trips out for us - there will be myself plus two slothful daughters aged 17 and 13 - would much appreciate any info. Good places to eat. The usual.
Thanks,
Meg
Hi meg_m ! You could take the girls down to Cardiff for the day for a spot of shopping and a look around the millenium stadium. There's also an ice skating rink and loads of nice places to eat.

Helen, I thought they'd closed the ice rink??? Also Cardiff castle but I think that may be closed too at the moment.
Newport is quite nice for shopping and there's the suspension bridge

For the beach there's Penarth with it's pier and Barry Island ( blue flag) and the pleasure beach and the knapp.
Hi both! I haven't been to the ice rink for a few years so perhaps it has shut down.
