hi to you ..devonbabez... ...we returned on the 12/06/06,.the weather was great one rainy day and one cool day out of 14 days ,.the beer (lager) prices in the hotels were approx £2.20 in the local bars approx £1.25,.and its all down to taste,.but if you like a short ? buy either from your departure airport or from the duty free shop when you land in monastir (the duty free shops are open for in coming passengers)..........regards and enjoy your holiday.......john-doe

hi again to you..devonbabez........it took us well over 1hour to get passed customs,.the custom officer was more interested in the young girls going to his desk rather than us old people,...p.s be very care full what things you put in your luggage coming back,.do not put any thing of value in your suitcase,.i.e.cameras e.t.c..."some one pinch my mine after check in........regards and have a great holiday.........john-doe...we also flew from manchester at 8.00pm

hi again were staying at les citrioniers in hammemet cant ask were you stayed as we havnt been before sorry

Came back last Monday,weather was great and we cleared Police control at Monastir in 20mins but having said that we were on the first bus off the plane.
We flew out at 19.10 from Manchester,I think the problem is quite a few planes land within 45mins or so of each other,so try to get a seat near the rear exit of the plane and you should get the first bus to the terminal.

we came back on 19th and th weather was fantastic,about 30 every day one day was slightly cloudy but nothing to stop you getting a tan.
It is really cheap out there,we stayed AI and apart from the odd day out we struggled to spend money!!!!

just got home from tunisia. had no problems at airport, straight through quick as anything.
i like to have a beer on holiday and i can tell your hubby what to expect.
nearly everywhere sells the same beer and thats called 'celtia' all hotels have this and if your AI it will just be celtia too. Celtia is 2% and tastes like nats pee. only tried one pint of it, drank half and left the rest. no matter where you are, any bar or any resturant- if you just order a beer it will be celtia. the locals who drink actually like it and will recomend it as a good beer. I looked around and checked about for decent beers and did find some. Theres a super market in yasmine hamamet called 'blue ice' this is the only place that i found an off license. they sold 4 types of beer.... celtia 2%, stella 3.5%, stella dry 6.5% and lowenbrowe 5.2% the beers come in same size can as a redbull. it works out roughly 50p a can. some resturants and bars had lowenbrowe on tap, its a not too bad beer ( not quite grolsch but ok ) works out about same as uk ..between £2.50 and £3 a pint. you gotta tell them lowenbrowe or you will get celtia. there was an irish bar in hammamet where we watched the football and i remember it had heiniken at £5 a pint.
dont expect tunisia to be as cheap as everyone makes out in these forums. we totally unestimated how much money we'd need thinking £500 between two of us for 2 weeks would be plenty. spent more like £900 they think english are rich and try to rip you off at every opertunity. things like a crap fake nike t-shirt which you might wear in the garden, yourd think should be about a fiver but they think is worth 30quid.
