Just checked the 2 websites you mentioned both showed plenty of sunshine with shade temps in the 80's during the day and at a worst 30% chance of rain at night. It is a fairly small island, every chance of any forecast rain missing it. But if they are right and the thunderstorms do arrive at night i feel it would be safest and best to take shelter in one of the numerous bars or restaurants until the danger has past :D. We have been visiting Rhodes for about 15 years now at different times during the summer and have seen lots of sun and no rain. we do check these websites before we go for the forecast for our first week and find it is always hotter then they forecast. If it does rain during the day there are a couple of museums in Rhodes Town, quite a big museum at the Grand Masters Palace dealing with Rhodian history. Unfortunately because of the sunshine record most excursions involve being outdoors.
As Logo says there's the Palace of the Grand Master and several other museums. Also the aquarium and the art gallery.Lots of good places to eat and watch the rain or maybe have a drink or several!! If there's a storm at night the lightning is usually spectacular, forked and going into the sea usually. I very much doubt there'll be much rain though and if there is some it doesn't last long--------------not like here in Wales when it never knows when to stop!
We came back from Rodos on 1st June and never saw a drop of rain. We couln't help but chuckle as we were walking through the shopping area in the old town. Quite a few of the shops were selling nothing but umbrellas. We've been 3 times now and never seen it rain.
umbrellas in rhodes are very very cheap. you know why? because we never use them...its raining in winter rarely (about three - four times a month)But when it starts raining its very hard and for a long time
Sing.
What to do when it rains? If you manage to try all the bars and museums then catch the ferry to Symi for a few days.
These have been taken in October in Lindos. But not to worry! The sun was out again the next morning and stayed out for the rest of our holiday.
We ate in there quite a few times. When we next go back, I quite fancy grabbing a takeaway fish & chips and relaxing on our balcony with a few beers.
