there customer service is very slow Tina . I booked flights to Egypt via their internet site and then decided to change the day by a couple of days. 2 weeks later 3, emails from me and 3 phone calls from me later i finally received my confirmation. I didnt want to loose those new flights and despite them telling me they had made the alteration i still wanted a new confirmation invoice. they just kept telling me i would be put on "the list"

Can you not get a price via their internet site Tina?? you would get a better price anyway and you can use one of their promotional codes for a further discount :D . Or is it because its over 6 weeks.

Hi Lyn, yes its because it is for 6 weeks the internet will not price it Im really mad as I bet they would of been quite a bit cheaper than anyone else as they usually are........oh well!!
I am going to book tomorrow with someone else....unless anyone has any suggestions!! I would just of liked to of had a price from Excel!!

How late can one check-in with Excel Air? Have booked flight departing 05.30 from Gatwick and website tells me that we have to be checked-in 2 hours before departure. It seems a very long time to sit at an airport in the middle of night. Most other flights have a 45 minute close for their check-in.

Does anyone know?

Check in times for almost all airlines were extended after 911 due to the length of time it takes to get through security.

In other threads you will see that check in opens 3 hours before take-off. the 2 hour check in time allows for queues at check in, getting everyone through security and loading bags etc.

It might seem a long time to be sat around but last year we arrive at 6.30 for an 8.30 flight with FC and it took us over at hour to reach the front of the check in queue - then we had to rush through the airport to reach the gate.

Anyone who hadn't arrived 2 hours before could have delayed the flight for everyone.

Excel do day before check in at gatwick for flights departing before 9.00 the following day.

We used this service a couple of weeks ago when we went to fuerteventura - our flight was 5.00am - once we had checked the baggage in we spent the night in an airport hotel then went back into the airport at 4.00 am and got on the plane. It saved alot of waiting around otherwise we would have had to have been at the airport for 2.00am at least we had a couple of hours more sleep than we would have done!

This years fares are approx £20p.p. lower at the moment (I have been watching them for 9 months), next years fares are actually approx £20 p.p. higher, than earlier this year.

Of course if you can wait longer, it seems likely that you can pick up last minute bargains ...there have been plenty this year - but that's not guarenteed, especially during school holidays.

Please PM me if you haven't got a promotion code, which should give you a futher discount per person.

I've been checking weekly on live departures from Newcastle as we booked with Xl to go Palma in August. We were originally going with Flyjet but have discovered today they've changed it to an XL flight (same times).

Flight was only 20 mins late departing (I can cope with that) but just hope things go smoothly for us.

Hi i booked some flights on saturday and one of the pax i have put down as a miss instead of mrs does this matter?

Possibly - names have to match those of passport but don't know if that includes title?

Miss or Mrs doesn,t show on your passport so all should be OK.
I am Miss but have had Mrs on some tickets with no problems

we booked with xl and on all our documentation we had my 14 year old daughter as miss and when we got to the airport they had her as mrs on boarding passes going and coming back lol

I've been trying for 2 days noe to get through to Excel but to no avail so i have emailed them,lets hope they dont charge me for changing the title.

Pat ... I suspect they may well charge you for any alteration. If by getting the title wrong you had also changed the sex of the passenger, an alteration may be necessary. But as the title error in this case only affects marital status, it is probably not something which airline staff would pick up on unless it was actually pointed out to them. Many female passengers choose to travel as Ms or Miss after marriage or divorce, so I personally don't see this as being a problem if left unaltered.

hI,i've had an email from a customer service advisor who says he has changed it for me free of charge,so every things ok and i've now sorted out my insurance and looking forward to my 2 weeks in Beni :D

The Excel flight for TCD to Sanford from Manchester due to depart yesterday is still at Manchester today. Presumably the people due to come home this morning will also be at least a day late as well.

Here we go again :( .

Cant complain really, flew to Dalaman from East Midlands on Monday 26th, returned 2 weeks later, got out on time both ways and arrived home early. Was nervous after reading last years saga though, I must admit.

However, the plane was probably older than me and it was a bit of a shed inside, bits falling off, seats that needed repair etc but its a budget airline so cant complain.
