Hi Dizzdy.

When we went to greece last which was zante,we spent £700 for 2,for 2 weeks self catering. The average price for a meal for 2 was,25/30 euros about 18 pounds.Booking through the local tourist office for trips should be cheaper than what the tour reps offer.

Cheers Inz.

Hi Dizzy......

Re the car hire and trips is this your first holiday to Zakynthos..

I've done pretty much all the trips and hired cars and i certainly wish i'd done everything in the opposite order after finding Zakfari.

The cost is quite expensive and it is a full on day but, what you get is a complete tour of the island with a great team. A fun complete day out visiting and seeing sites from vantage points you would never find on your own.

If i had done this trip first it would have certainly given me more ideas of where to drive to on the island as i've been there a few times now and never got any further than half way up the island from Laganas.

There are now a few other "jeep safaris" on zante and the one to look for is zakfari.

Just zante zakfari comments

Hi Dizz,

I'd suggest taking quite a bit of money. I went with my friend (self catering though) a couple of weeks ago and we managed to get through nearly £1500 for the two of us over 10 days. We did drink every night (quite often til 6am - how does it get so late without realising it?! ) and ate 2 or 3 meals out everyday... But we found it to be not as cheap as we'd thought it was going to be. Was still cheaper than the UK though, just think we've been spoilt as we've been to Turkey for the last few years which we found a fair bit cheaper.

We hired a quad bike for three days over the holiday which bumped the price up slightly (it was 30 euro's per 24 hours which was too much of a bargain to pass up on  )

We had a wonderful time, its a great place!! Have fun :)

Hi, we returned yesterday from Zante (Alykanas) and we spent on average £100 per day, we are 2 adults and 2 children, we ate out every evening and always had a few drinks although nothing heavy and usually home for 12 o'clock, I mostly made breakfast and lunch (as we went self catering) but things like ice cream and lilos, etc soon add up, we aslo did a trip to the waterpark, which was quite expensive.

I returned from Kalamaki recently and found it quite expensive compared to our trip to Greece a few years ago. Food wasn't too bad, what would cost 1 pound over here cost 1 euro over there but drinks were comparable to the UK.

i was in Zante about 4 years ago and couldnt belief how expensive it was. However i was in Laganas - spent about £500.00 in 1 week and that was without going out everynight

were paying 10 euro for 2 vodka and cokes

in saying that i loved the island and was worth every penny

My girlfriend and I went to Tsilivi last month - took £550 each for 2 weeks and brought back not much under £100! Food is cheap out there, and if yiu drink the local beers (Mythos - which is the best there anyway) you wont spend loads. We have no kids etc, and ate out every night. Due to the heat etc we didnt eat much in the day, just the odd burger etc.

Fantastic resort and island!
