i would also agree that Tunisia is a fairly good value destination but its what you make of it. I went with my boyfriend half board at Kanta 4* was only €650pp (£450) which was really cheap. we spent only €800 (£550) spending money for the two of us for 2 weeks.

Eating out was really cheap we had a 2 course meal and drinks
for 15 euros!! Shoes and leather were cheap in fixed price shops in Sousse and is much cheaper than PEk (which is understandable). But Tunisia is not big for shopping and but when you do find something haggling is a must. Soula centre is a good place to go and see what price you should really pay for things!!

This is not a holiday for people who want to drink alot. Its always local drinks and if imported you ll pay for them.
Though we didn t spend much on drinks as my partner never drinks alcohol and drinks coke and fanta instead :) . The few times i ordered a glass of wine I 'd get very funny looks from waiters (I think its because I (the girl) was drinking and he wasn't) . And when we ordered drinks they would immediately give the coke to me and the alcohol to my partner then we d have to switch drinks which was so embarassing. Which meant I detoxed for the rest of the holiday but it was my own choice as I just felt awkward. I never once got tipsy on holidays!!! thats a first!!! :)

the one thing that eats the money is the day trips. Unfortunatly I didn t use my credit card (as it suffered enough before the holidays) and I should have as i just found that ate 1/4 of our money and left us not tight in the end but I had to withdraw a bit more than intended, next time ill pay for all trips on plastic and deal with it when i get home!!!

the way I look at it is its much cheaper than Ireland and France and I d be fairly certain Britain as well. Its not the costa del sol prices in alcohol , And if your heading there for the booze it might be a mistake. but their local alcohol is fine (especially magon red) .
It boils down to how you spend the money really!!!!
If it was good value for us it must even cheaper for British people as sterling is stronger and you get more dinars . £200 sterling seems more than enough as that would mean 400-500 dinar per week.
good luck!!!
